My stepson is a busy guitarist in the LA area. I've offed too many guitars over the years that I want back. I do prefer the Gibson P90's overall, but those old Harmony/Silvertone PUs have space of their own.Д«ut yeah, I'm hanging onto that SG. I've got a 1965 Silvertone 1454 Redburst that has that same rowdy, handle me if you can, attitude.

And most I've played have been quite light. I love the raucous feedback that has to be kept in check when you turn them up. They are not slick feeling guitars by any stretch. I think the thing I like about them, both the 125 and the 225, is the raw feel. So for you guys who own one and use it for anything other than jazz, whatВґs your take on it? What drive pedals and amps does it like?

I always wanted a P90 since I sold my в™†6 330, didnВґt really know what I had, wasnВґt much of a player either andДidnВґt unlock the full sound potential of the instrument at the time but I like to believe I got a way bigger character and sound in this Es-125, and more to my style and liking, I mean itВґs the sound I was looking for. It really likes the FenderВґs much more than my JCM800, itВґs too harsh. Now, with the drive on and volume at 5/6 IВґll get a clean tone believe it or not and with volume at 10 it rips my head off! HereВґs example and my setup: Gibson - drive pedal (on) - vox tonelab se - super reverb and super six reverb (stereo) The body is so responsive and sustains for days. ItВґs super light and calls for being picked up and played. 11 so thatВґs to come.Д«ut man, this thing can do all sorts, any style if you know how, from Robert Johnson to Killing Joke. 10 strings at the moment (not flat wound) but my gut says it likes. I use it for everything but jazz - letВґs get that out of the way Got this в™†2 Gibson not so long ago and itВґs blowing my mind. It is in extremely good condition considering its age with moderate wear. The original owner said this was a 1959 but I am I am currently confirming that with Gibson.
